Everything you need to get started with Memorafy.

Features
Configuration
First launch
On first open, Memorafy walks you through a short onboarding flow: features, privacy, optional launch at login, and optional account sign-in. After that it lives in the macOS menu bar or Windows system tray — there is no main window to manage.
Grant clipboard access when your operating system prompts you. Without it, Memorafy cannot capture history.
Keyboard shortcuts
Default shortcuts in Quick Paste and the tray panel:
- Open Quick Paste: ⌘⇧V (macOS) / Ctrl+Shift+V (Windows)
- Move selection: ↑ and ↓
- Copy selected clip: Enter
- Switch tabs (History, Pinned, Favorites, etc.): Tab
- Close Quick Paste: Esc
Pin, favorite, delete, and copy-as-plain-text actions are available from each clip's action menu in the tray panel or Quick Paste — not separate global shortcuts today.
Clipboard history
Text, links, code, and images are captured automatically. Open the tray panel from the menu bar or system tray icon, or use Quick Paste from anywhere. Concealed clipboard content from password managers is never stored.
Quick Paste
Press ⌘⇧V or Ctrl+Shift+V to open the search overlay over any app. Type to search, use arrow keys to select, and press Enter to copy the clip back to your clipboard.
Search and filters
Memorafy uses SQLite full-text search (FTS5). Filter with prefixes such as type:image, is:pinned, and device:mac to narrow results.
Collections, favorites, and snippets
- Pinned — keep important clips at the top
- Favorites — star clips for quick access
- Collections — group clips by project or workflow
- Snippets — save reusable text you edit and paste often
Cloud sync and encryption
Sync is optional. Sign in from Settings → Account to enable real-time sync across Mac and Windows. Clip content is encrypted on your device before upload. If encryption is locked after a password change, unlock it in Account settings with your current password.
Sign-up and password reset use email OTP codes entered in the app.
Settings
Open Settings from the tray menu. Configure launch at login, history retention, theme, collections, account and sync, feedback, and about / updates.
Retention
History can auto-expire after 30, 60, or 90 days (Settings → History). Pinned items, favorites, snippets, and collection members are always kept regardless of retention.
Install notes
macOS: Releases are signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple. Open the DMG, drag Memorafy to Applications, and launch normally — no Terminal commands or right-click workarounds.
Windows: Installers are not yet signed with a paid Authenticode certificate. If SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC” or “Unknown publisher”, choose More info → Run anyway (one time per download). In-app auto-updates remain cryptographically verified.
